Congratulations on choosing Canada’s largest and most recognized swimming and water safety program. While providing a positive learning experience, the learn2swim program produces strong confident swimmers who have fun in the water and can enjoy it for a lifetime!
Back To Basics Swim Academy is an affiliate of the Canadian Red Cross and is certified to evaluate participants based on Swim Preschool (1-8). All skills are taught in accordance with Provincial Standards and awards issued by Back To Basics Swim Academy are in good standing with all municipalities.

Swim Kids is a 10 level program that allows for solid progression of skills and knowledge. The learn2swim philosophy focuses on getting things right from the start. Participants learn to swim, be fit, and stay safe in a fun environment that promotes achieving a personal best and celebrates personal success.
Back To Basics Swim Academy is an affiliate of the Canadian Red Cross and is certified to evaluate participants based on Swim Kids (1-10). All strokes are taught in accordance with Provincial Standards and awards issued by Back To Basics Swim Academy are in good standing with all municipalities.

LIFESAVING & LEADERSHIP
Whether you are in the water or just walking down the street, Back to Basics Swim Academy recognizes the importance of having lifesaving skills that can be of aid in any situation. We offer a variety of aquatic lifesaving courses as well as stand-alone First Aid Courses. You never know when these skills will come in handy!
Bronze Medal Courses |

The Lifesaving Society’s Bronze Medal courses are the first step into becoming a lifeguard or swim instructor. These courses will challenge participants physically and mentally in regards to problem-solving and decision-making.
Bronze Star |
Prerequisites: None, recommended at least 11 years of age | |
Bronze Medallion

Prerequisites: Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star Certification (does not need to be current) Reference Material Required: Canadian Lifesaving Manual |

Bronze Cross |
Prerequisites: Bronze Medallion and either Emergency First Aid OR Standard First Aid Reference Material Required: Canadian Lifesaving Manual |
First Aid Courses |

Learn how to effectively handle injuries and any other medical emergencies at work or home. These courses are Lifesaving Society certified and are WSIB recognized. We offer both new and recertifications.
